The Solid State Recorder (SSR) performs continuous background memory scrub-bing in which the SSR corrects any 1 symbol (4-bit) Single Event Upsets (SEU) failure and detects any 2 symbol (2 x 4-bit) SEU failure per 64-bit data word. The numbers of these correctable and non-correctable errors are named Bit Error Counts. They are accumulated while the SSRs are operating and are dumped to ground and reset at each ground station pass.",
