  "x_description": "This dataset represents an epoch ordered list of plasma regions encountered by the Cluster spacecraft 4 in the magnetotail, entry and exit time as well as characteristic plasma and magnetic field parameters for each region. In addition, a caveat flag which describes undefined regions, quality flag which describes magnetic field and plasma instrument data quality, as well as comment flag which comments dataset in general, are given. The UR flag gives the reasons for undefined regions: when 0-not an undefined region record, 1-missing FGM moments ,2-missing plasma moments , 3-missing FGM and plasma instrument moments, 4-spacecaft out of tail region , 5-spacecraft out of tail region and missing FGM moments , 6-spacecraft out of tail region and missing plasma moments , 7-spacecraft out of tail region and missing FGM and plasma moments , 8-FGM caveat in interval , 9-Plasma instrument caveat in interval, 10-Plasma and/or FGM instrument is in wrong operation mode, 11-magnetosheath entry, 12-high density in flanks (e.g mantle), 13-magnetosheath crossing, 14-C2 MS region, 15-Solar Proton Event interval. The regions identified are defined as: SS_LOBE=Southern lobe, NN_LOBE=Northern lobe, SS_BR=Southern Boundary Region, NN_BR=Northern Boundary Region, SS_OPS=Southern Outer Plasma Sheet, NN_OPS=Northern Outer Plasma Sheet, SS_IPS=Southern Inner Plasma Sheet, NN_IPS=Northern Inner Plasma Sheet, NS_NSR=North to South Neutral Sheet Crossing Region, SN_NSR=South to North Neutral Sheet Crossing Region, 00_NSR=Neutral Sheet data point (Bx=0), UR=Undefined Region Region comments: 0-not applicable, 1-Plasma region is OPS with high beta (>1 for ions, ratio for electrons) data points, 2-Plasma region is IPS with low beta (<1 for ions, ratio for electrons) data points, 3-IPS region with minimum beta in BR beta range, 4-IPS region with minimum beta in the lobe beta range, 5-Lobe region containing data points with density below the instrument sensitivity (CAA density moments=0), 6-Lobe region with high density (>0.1), 7-Flank (yz>8) region with high density (>1), 8-UR region due to high density (UR flag 12) was NSR before removal, 9-UR region due to high density (UR flag 12) was IPS before removal, 10-UR region due to high density (UR flag 12) was OPS before removal, 11-UR region due to high density (UR flag 12) was BR before removal, 12-UR region due to high density (UR flag 12) was LOBE before removal, 13-C2 region in the flank (abs(yz)>10), 14-C2 region in the flank and is high density lobe, 66-NSR crossing points IPS only, 67-NSR crossing points IPS+OPS, 68-NSR crossing points IPS+BR, 69-NSR crossing points IPS+LOBE,77-NSR crossing points OPS only, 78-NSR crossing points OPS+BR, 79-NSR crossing points OPS+LOBE, 88-NSR crossing points BR only, 89-NSR crossing points BR+LOBE, 99-NS crossing points LOBE only. Instrument id of plasma instrument is: 0-not applicable, 1-CIS-CODIF_H1, 2-CIS-HIA, 3-PEACE. This dataset was generated as part of European Union ECLAT project. The aim of the European Cluster Assimilation Technology (ECLAT) is to provide a novel data base, by providing an upgrade to the CAA. To achieve this , ECLAT programme ingests into the CAA supporting data from other space- and ground-based observatories, provide data mining routines, refine data products and software tools for their visualisation, and develop existing European magnetospheric modeling infrastructure to provide context for the observational data.
